Jawer Tea House
A tea house and bakery that recovers the vocabulary of local hospitality and recasts it in a contemporary language. The concept rests on walls in a rough cement finish the colour of clay, hung with Persian rugs treated as paintings rather than floor coverings, so they serve a double role: carrying the heritage register and absorbing the echo in a space of hard surfaces. Burgundy dominates the brand details and the pendant lighting, whose ribbed shades hang low over the tables to create rings of light that define each sitting on its own. The tables were selected round and the seating curved in pale bouclé fabrics that soften the roughness of the walls and encourage face-to-face gatherings. Arabic calligraphy is introduced as an architectural element rather than signage: the name and its phrases are executed in relief on the walls at a large scale so the text becomes part of the interior architecture itself.
